First things first, there’s a brand-new Ed Mann Walking strip. Get all caught up on any you may have missed and then subscribe for e-mail notifications every time the comic updates.
I also wanted to take a moment to give you a status update on our current list of projects since we haven’t been able to drop in as much as we would have liked the past few weeks.
So the unfortunate news is that things are just not moving along as quickly as we’d like them to. I’ve been absolutely buried in freelance work and putting in up to 12-15 hours a day seven days a week on that stuff. It hasn’t left a whole lot of time left over for other projects. Especially when we’re determined to hit maintain our schedule with the comic every week.
“The Surprise Party” is 75% done. I need to clean-up some of the scenes and do a final mix and that’s about it. That last 25% is so crucial though that there’s just no way I’m going to rush through it so that I can be done with it. I’m determined to deliver the best possible film that I can and sometimes getting there involves a lot of trial and error. So we’re close… very close. It’s not for lack of passion, I have to make that clear. What we’ve got so far is looking fantastic. I want to make sure the remainder is equally as strong.
The delays on that film have obviously affected our next project, “Legion“. So the bad news there is that we’re not going to be able to move forward on that as soon as we wanted to. The good news is I just worked out a brand new treatment for the film that has a slightly different take than previous versions and WE FREAKING LOVE IT. Seriously. I cannot wait to get started on it. It’s going to be totally unlike anything we’ve ever done and if it comes together the way we’re hoping it will then it’ll be worth the wait.
So I apologize profusely for the long road we’ve found ourselves on. I just need to keep my head above water and power through some other obligations before I can get everything here back on track.
The question isn’t “if”, it’s “when”. You have my word. I hope there’s some solace in that.
